  • Most people have an opinion as to whether or not Coach Fitz should have gone for the win or kicked the field goal in their bowl game against Auburn. I said at the time that I am 100% behind the call to go for the fake field goal and the win. I still feel that way. Most people I've talked to believe NU should have kicked the field goal. Here's one article explaining why going for the win was the right choice. (disclaimer: I'm sure there are articles out that explaining why it's a bad call to go for it, but I don't feel like finding articles that explain it. Plus, I feel like the argument to kick the field goal is obvious anyway)

  • There have been several tweets and articles I've run across this morning talking about how the Bulls have been better lately because Derrick Rose is playing more aggressive and "taking over the team" (here's one of the articles). I mean...no shit. You mean it's a good idea to have our best player, our future, the face of our franchise, play aggressive and "take over the team"?! Really? That is working out? These articles shouldn't be about how it's working now. They should be blasting Vinny, management, or even Derrick Rose for not doing this earlier / from the very beginning. Did Lebron come into the league and try to distribute the basketball and fit into a system? Absolutely not. Yes, I know, they play different positions and Derrick isn't LeBron. But still. LeBron essentially plays PG anyway for the Cavs. He came into the league, took over his team, and made his team adjust "their system" around him. I'm just confused why this didn't happen earlier. Thoughts?
  • I remember when Lizzie and I were walking out of the movie theater after watching Avatar we were talking about how it must be a concern for "Avatar" that they didn't even come close to filling the theater on the first real opening night at 7:00PM. Our theater had a lot of people in it, but it wasn't full by any means. Well, apparently they're doing just fine. They're already the 4th biggest movie of all time. Oh boy.
  • I tweeted this earlier, but parking meter rates are getting hiked again...*sigh*
  • And since the Bears' season ended as a huge disappointment is over, here's a video that will pick up your mood regarding the Bears:
